Bengaluru (Karnataka): In a major boost to India’s fast-growing aerospace ecosystem, Collins Aerospace, a business of RTX, has inaugurated its sprawling 26-acre Collins India Operations Center (CIOC) at the KIADB Aerospace Park in Bengaluru.

The new facility marks a significant milestone in Collins’ global manufacturing strategy and underscores India’s emergence as a high-tech aerospace hub.

Designed as a next-generation smart manufacturing site, the CIOC is equipped with cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, and robotics, the company said in a statement on Nov. 11, 2025.

It will initially produce a range of advanced aerospace components such as aircraft seats, lighting, and cargo systems, temperature sensors, water systems, communication and navigation solutions, and evacuation slides for global markets.

“The Collins India Operations Center will drive operations and manufacturing for more than 70 Collins products, enhancing worldwide service transformation and delivering operational excellence,” Collins Aerospace senior vice president of operations Roy Gullickson said. “The CIOC also offers additional capacity to support future growth and evolving customer needs.”

Built with sustainability at its core, the site features an Industry 4.0 Building Management System that connects manufacturing processes for improved efficiency and quality.

The facility has earned both LEED Silver and Indian Green Building Council Silver certifications and is expected to employ over 2,200 people by 2026.

Collins Aerospace’s latest investment further deepens RTX’s nearly three-decade presence in India, which already includes over 6,500 employees across engineering, digital, manufacturing, and supply chain functions.

Earlier this year, the company also announced a new Engineering Development and Test Center in Bengaluru, solidifying India’s role as a cornerstone of RTX’s global innovation network.
