Bengaluru (Karnataka): In a significant consolidation move within India’s rapidly expanding defence electronics and drone communication ecosystem, CoreEL Technologies Private Limited, on December 2, 2025, announced the acquisition of the Aerospace & Defence Systems (ADS) division of Bengaluru-based Lekha Wireless.
The deal, whose financial details remain undisclosed, marks a major strategic push as Indian companies race to build indigenous, secure, and product-ready communication systems under the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
This acquisition instantly strengthens CoreEL’s position in the military communication segment, adding advanced wireless communication Intellectual Properties, next-generation engineering talent, and proven tactical communication technologies that cater to India’s armed forces, strategic agencies, missile programmes, and UAV operations.

Major Force in Secure Defence Communications
The takeover comes at a time when India’s defence communication market is undergoing a sharp transformation, with the armed forces demanding highly secure, indigenous, and battlefield-ready communication networks.
From tactical radios to encrypted drone data links, the need for homegrown technology has never been greater.
With Lekha’s ADS division integrated into its operations, CoreEL now gains a significantly expanded portfolio, covering:
- Tactical and Vehicle Software-Defined Radios (SDRs)
- Mesh Radios
- MIL-Standard battlefield communication systems
- Secure commercial-grade communication equipment
- Missile Telemetry and Data Links
- SATCOM-enabling systems
- UAV and drone communication systems
These additions seamlessly complement CoreEL’s existing strengths in airborne systems, secure data links, electronic warfare components, and SATCOM, creating one of the most comprehensive indigenous communication portfolios in the country.
India’s Next-Gen Communication Architecture
The acquisition also boosts CoreEL’s Research & Development capabilities at a time when India is prioritising sovereign communication hardware, particularly for drone warfare, network-centric operations, and next-generation tactical systems.
The combined entity will accelerate development of advanced communication solutions that meet both Indian and global demand for rugged, reliable, and encrypted military-grade systems.
In a statement, CoreEL Technologies managing director and CEO Vishwanath Padur said the deal aligns perfectly with the company’s ambition to lead India’s secure communication ecosystem.
