Bhubaneshwar (Odisha): India’s BonV Aero drone company has partnered with Israel’s ParaZero Technologies to bring counter-drone technology to India.
The two companies announced on March 27, 2026, that they had signed an agreement granting BonV Aero exclusive rights to market and produce ParaZero’s DefendAir system in India.
DefendAir deploys kinetic midair countermeasures to bring down an adversary’s drone without disrupting communication systems. Such a countermeasure is suitable for sensitive locations, including border areas and critical infrastructure.
“The threat landscape has changed, and India’s response capability must adapt accordingly,” BonV Aero co-founder and chief executive officer Satyabrata Satapathy said in a statement. “DefendAir is designed to operate in conditions where conventional countermeasures fall short,” he said.

The recent global conflicts, including India’s Operation Sindoor against Pakistan in May 2025, have witnessed the proliferation of drone warfare. India is particularly vulnerable to drone incursions from inimical forces from across the border.
Recent Parliamentary Committee reports have indicated that Indian security forces sight up to three drones, operating autonomously or using encrypted signals, on the borders every day over the past five years.
Indian regulations also limit the use of jammers near key infrastructure such as airports and nuclear installations, creating a demand for alternatives that do not interfere with the electromagnetic spectrum.
DefendAir uses a net-launched mechanism to capture inimical drones in flight and allows agencies to recover the intercepted drones intact for analysis and intelligence gathering, the statement said.
“The (DefendAir) system is built for border security, protection of strategic assets, convoy movement, and urban operations,” ParaZero chief executive officer Ariel Alon said.
This partnership with BonV Aero would create an opportunity to integrate the tested DefendAir system into the Indian security framework, he added.
The partnership would also exploit ParaZero’s DropAir platform for autonomous delivery in high-altitude and remote areas, positioning it to support the Indian armed forces, paramilitary organisations, and central security agencies with a new system to combat aerial threats in the air littoral.
BonV Aero produces heavy-lift electric aerial vehicles and autonomous systems, while ParaZero, a Nasdaq-listed company, develops aerial safety and counter-drone technologies for the global drone market.
