Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh): Singularity AMC, a leading growth-equity investment platform backed by noted investor Madhusudan Kela, has invested in Kanpur-based Lohia Aerospace Systems Private Limited, marking a significant boost to India’s fast-evolving aerospace and defence manufacturing ecosystem.
The investment is aimed at scaling Lohia Aerospace’s advanced composites and aerostructures capabilities to meet rising global demand from aerospace and defence original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
Founded in 2021 by the Lohia family, Lohia Aerospace has rapidly emerged as a specialised player in the design and manufacture of complex composite structures used in aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and next-generation aerospace and defence platforms.
The company operates vertically integrated, world-class engineering and production facilities, enabling it to deliver high-performance composite components, assemblies, and full aerostructures to leading global OEMs.
The partnership comes at a time when India’s aerospace and defence sector — valued at about US$ 27.4 billion — is undergoing a structural transformation.
Driven by strong domestic demand, export growth, advanced manufacturing, and supportive government policies such as Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), the sector is projected to grow to nearly US$ 54.4 billion by 2033 at a CAGR of around 7%.
Advanced composites, which are critical for modern aircraft and defence systems due to their strength-to-weight advantages, are expected to be a key growth driver.
Lohia Aerospace managing director Anurag Lohia said the investment would accelerate the company’s ambition of building a world-class advanced materials platform from India.
He noted that the partnership would help expand product capabilities, deepen global relationships, and strengthen India’s position in the global aerospace supply chain.
Singularity AMC’s leadership highlighted Lohia Aerospace’s strong design and manufacturing capabilities, quality-focused culture, and proven export track record.
The firm sees significant long-term opportunity in advanced composites as global aerospace platforms increasingly rely on lightweight, high-performance materials.
With this investment, Lohia Aerospace is well-positioned to scale operations, enhance technological depth, and emerge as a key Indian contributor to global aerospace and defence manufacturing over the coming decade.
